Tips for Productivity

Smart Save & Copy Context Awareness

The ⌘⌃S (Smart Save) and ⌘⌃C (Smart Copy) shortcuts are context-aware:

  • In a Browser: Save/copy the current page URL
  • In Finder: Save/copy selected files or folders
  • Anywhere Else: Defaults to browser behavior

Customizing Shortcuts

You can customize most global shortcuts in Preferences → Shortcuts:

  1. Open SupaSidebar preferences
  2. Navigate to the Shortcuts tab
  3. Click on any shortcut to record a new key combination
  4. Press the desired key combination
  5. Changes are saved automatically

Disabling Optional Shortcuts

Some shortcut groups can be toggled on/off:

  • Space Navigation Number Shortcuts (⌘⌃1-9): Enable/disable in Preferences → Spaces
  • Pinned Item Shortcuts (⌘⌥1-9): Enable/disable in Preferences → General

This prevents conflicts with other apps that may use the same shortcuts.

Keyboard-First Workflow Example

Here’s a typical keyboard-only workflow:

  1. ⌘⌃K - Open command panel
  2. Type to search for a link
  3. - Navigate to desired result
  4. Return - Open the link
  5. Browse and find interesting page
  6. ⌘⌃S - Save current page to SupaSidebar
  7. ⌘⇧Space - Close sidebar
  8. ⌘⌥1 - Later, instantly open your first pinned item

All without touching the mouse! 🚀

Shortcut conflicts? If any SupaSidebar shortcuts conflict with other apps, you can customize them in Preferences → Shortcuts.
