Fill Screen

Browser automatically resizes to fill the remaining screen space alongside the sidebar.

Choose Maximize Browser Window in the When Sidebar Opens menu to share the screen between your browser and the sidebar. The browser resizes to fill the space beside the sidebar, and the When Sidebar Hides menu controls what happens to the browser afterwards.

How It Works

When the sidebar opens, your frontmost browser window resizes to fill the remaining space. When the sidebar hides, what happens to the browser depends on the When Sidebar Hides setting (see Sidebar Panel - Behavior).

Setup

Open Preferences → Sidebar
In Browser Integration, set When Sidebar Opens to Maximize Browser Window
Choose what should happen under When Sidebar Hides. To expand the browser when the sidebar closes, select Expand Browser to Fill Screen
Grant Accessibility permission when prompted

Works in both attached and independent layouts

Maximize Browser Window works with both Smart Attach and Independent sidebar integration. The Full Screen Browser button in the sidebar’s top toolbar also fills the available space immediately, without changing your When Sidebar Opens setting.

When Sidebar Hides

The When Sidebar Hides menu picks one of three behaviors once the sidebar goes away:

Expand Browser to Fill Screen - the front browser expands to fill the screen.
Restore Browser Position - browser windows return to the size and position they had before the sidebar opened.
Leave Browser As-Is - the browser stays in its filled shape.
