Privacy Blocklist

Keep certain sites or browsers out of Live Tabs and Recent Items so your personal browsing stays private.

How it works

The Privacy Blocklist filters what appears in Live Tabs and Recents. Any URL, domain, or entire browser you add to the blocklist is hidden from both surfaces. The blocklist only affects visibility in SupaSidebar - it does not block or alter your actual browsing.

What you can block

TypeExampleEffect
URLhttps://example.com/privateHides this specific page
Domainexample.comHides all pages from this domain
BrowserSafariExcludes the browser entirely - see below

Blocking a whole browser

When you add a browser to the blocklist, SupaSidebar stops every automatic behavior for that browser:

  • Its tabs do not appear in Live Tabs
  • Its history does not appear in Recent Items
  • The sidebar does not auto-show when that browser is focused
  • The sidebar does not attach to or resize with that browser’s windows
  • Cmd Ctrl T (Save All Tabs) ignores that browser
  • Smart Save (Cmd Ctrl S) and Smart Copy (Cmd Ctrl C) skip the browser

This makes browser-blocking the right choice when you have a personal or work browser you want SupaSidebar to ignore completely.

If you have a secondary browser (such as Arc with its own native sidebar) where SupaSidebar keeps appearing on top, see Sidebar Appears in a Browser I Don’t Use.

Setup

  1. Open Preferences -> Tabs & History, scroll to Privacy Blocklist
  2. Click Add to Blocklist
  3. Enter a URL, domain, or select a browser
  4. The item is immediately hidden from Live Tabs and Recents

Tips

  • Blocking a browser hides all its tabs from Live Tabs and all its history from Recent Items
  • Domain blocking matches all subdomains - blocking example.com also hides mail.example.com
  • Blocked items can still be saved to your sidebar manually - the blocklist only affects automatic tracking
