Browser profiles in 1.2.x
This guide describes the interface before 1.3.0. For the space-header link menu and current Preferences layout, see Link a browser or profile.
Link a browser or profile
- Open the space in the sidebar.
- In Live Tabs, click Link a browser profile.
- Select the browser or profile.
The Live Tabs header shows the linked profile. To remove it, click the profile indicator in the Live Tabs header and choose Unlink.
A profile-linked space filters its tab list to that profile. A whole-browser link filters to that browser. Unlinked spaces show tabs from all enabled, supported browsers.
Earlier settings locations
| Setting in 1.2.x | Location in 1.2.x |
|---|---|
| Auto-Launch Browser/Profile | Preferences → Browser Activity → Profile Spaces |
| Link Open Tabs to Space | Preferences → Browser Activity → Advanced |
| Auto-link tabs on leave | Under Link Open Tabs to Space |
Link Open Tabs to Space is the optional close-and-reopen workflow. It is separate from linking a browser profile. Locked tabs are excluded from closing.
What moved in 1.3.0
| Earlier interface | 1.3.0 interface |
|---|---|
| Profile indicator in Live Tabs | Link icon and browser/profile label beside the space name |
| Profile Spaces settings in Browser Activity | Preferences → Spaces → Switching spaces |
| Link Open Tabs to Space | Close and reopen tabs on space change, under Switching spaces → Advanced |
| Auto-link tabs on leave | Remember all open tabs when leaving, under the legacy control |
The new space form also offers linking and optional bookmark fetching. Existing settings are retained when upgrading; the new interface does not require enabling legacy tab closing.
See the 1.3.0 linking guide and current legacy tab guide for the updated instructions.
